Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my model horse stable.

The most recent photo of my current Marx horse collection.

I don't remember a time when I didn't love horses.
When I was a kid and had no way of owning a real horse, I started collecting model horses.
Back then, over 50 years ago, Breyer Models weren't the big thing...  Marx Model horses were.  I got my first Marx, a Palomino Thunderbolt, on my 4th birthday.  I still have that, as well as all the ones I collected as a child.  Since becoming an adult, I started collecting them again, concentrating on all of the ones I wanted as a child, but no one could afford.

Left: Me at 5 years old with Flame, Jane, and the corral.
Middle:  Me about 6 or 7 with one of my Thunderbolts
Right: Me about 8 or 9 with another new Thunderbolt.

Even as a child I tried customizing a couple when they broke or faded badly.  The black horse broke and I fixed it with duct tape.  Another one I changed from a Palomino to a Buckskin because that was my favorite color as a child.

Even though I have collected these models since I was a child, I found it sad that for about 40ish years they just sat on the shelf collecting dust.  I'd take them down maybe twice a year... Okay, once a year if I was honest, to dust and clean them.  I often thought of getting rid of them because what purpose was collecting "junk" that just sat around and would probably just be thrown away when I was gone from this earth.

A couple years after Majic died, I decided to turn one of my Thunderbolts into a Memorial to him.  In researching how to do that, I found this whole other world of collectors and thanks to their websites, and a few FB Groups, I have found a new outlet for my lifelong passion.

Several years of crafting experience later, I've turned it into my favorite hobby.  I sell most of my work on Ebay, but I'm starting to sell more models here, as well as some other items, and I am open to doing custom orders.  Contact me if you have something specific you'd like.  Prices vary according to work and supplies involved.

I intend to continue to sell quite a few customs to help increase my own collection until I have the amount I've decided on.  I'm replacing all I had as a child but lost, plus everything I wanted but my parents couldn't afford to get back then.  Then I will sell a custom here and there when I want something special to add, such as a special saddle or custom figure.

Overall I try to be more of a historical artist.  I like the "Cowboys/Cowgirls" and Cavalry Men to ride solid colored horses, and the Indians to ride Paints and Appaloosas, so I like to customize as many solid horses as I do the flashier horses.  I have started to do more drastic sculpting and I'm working to get more proficient at it.

Please look around and if you have any questions or would like to discuss plans for a personal custom\memorial model, please don't hesitate to contact me.
